Are You Parenting a Child Struggling with Body Image Issues or Disordered Eating?

Are you a parent to a child that…

  • Has been acting differently and isolating

  • Has decreased their food intake

  • Is focused on exercising more

  • Has lost a lot of weight and you’re not sure what to do

  • Feels like food controls their life

If your child is struggling with their relationship to food and to their body, you may feel helpless. Parenting through this can be very challenging.

However, the fact that you are here shows that you are committed to helping your child overcome these challenges and find healing and recovery.

Helping young adults and their families navigate this complex illness is something I am deeply committed to and I’m so glad that you are here.

Finding Strength

You Are Not Alone On This Journey

When a loved one has an eating disorder, it impacts the whole family.  It’s common that parents struggle to find the right balance between supporting their loved one while also giving them autonomy.

I guide families to support their child through learning and reinforcing healthy behaviors. According to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), about 60-70% of people with eating disorders can achieve full recovery with appropriate treatment.

Having helped children, teens, young adults and their families over 12 years manage and recover from this complex illness, I applaud you in taking this step in getting support not only for your child, but for your family.

A Roadmap to Recovery

I support children, their parents and adults like you in the journey to a healthier relationship with their body and food. My approach is collaborative and since therapy is a guided journey to gain insight and resilience, and improve communication and decision-making skills, I design treatments to encourage an individual to choose a positive path.

I utilize evidenced based treatments to help you find relief from troubling thoughts and behaviors. My work is established in cultural sensitivity, Health at Every Size®, Intuitive Eating, and social justice.

I invite you to book a consultation today, so we can start your journey toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with your body and food. You deserve this. Let's connect and begin working on you.
